This coming Sunday we will be gathering for worship at 9am on “The Barge”. We will be focusing our time on Mark 11.15-19. In this passage we find Jesus driving out those selling and buying in the temple. He also turns over the tables of the money changers and those selling doves. This scene clearly shows who is in charge —– for Jesus begins teaching in the temple that the temple is to be a place of prayer for all the nations (v17). His teaching clearly had an affect on the crowd —– which included the chief priests and the scribes. The religious leaders wanted to kill him and the crowds were spellbound by his teaching. Let’s gather together and remind ourselves that we are to be a people that are known for prayer —– not known for buying, selling, and bartering.
