Acknowledging Reality – Meaningful Work

On Sunday we will be gathering for worship on “The Barge” at 9am.  We will be focusing our time on Luke 15.11-32.  In this passage we find that the youngest son squandered all of his inheritance and a severe famine happened to break out in the land.  This was a tragic time for the prodigal and he couldn’t find meaningful work.  He instead had to sell himself to a pig farmer, who didn’t even pay him enough to eat.  Here in Wilmington we are in need of creative and imaginative people that will help with creating jobs that are meaningful and fulfilling.  Let’s dream...

Acknowledging Reality – Addictions

This Sunday we will be gathering for worship at 9am on “The Barge”.  We will be focusing our time on Luke 15.11-32, specifically around the area of addictions.  In the story of the prodigal son we find the youngest son had squandered all of his money on dissolute living.  After this loss of all of his money he then “came to himself” (Luke 15.17).  This moment of decision is key in acknowledging the reality of hurts, habits, and hang-ups.  We want to invite all of you through this journey of the prodigal son as we look at the realities we find here in...
