Tax Collectors & Sinners

This coming Sunday we will be gathering for worship at 9am on “The Barge”. We will be focusing our time together on Mark 2.13-22. In this passage we find Jesus calling a tax collector named Levi to follow him — and that is what Levi does. Levi then invites Jesus to his home for dinner, and Levi invites his friends to come and have dinner with Jesus as well (v15). And guess what? The religious folks did not like it ….. they did not like that Jesus ate with sinners and questioned Jesus. They questioned whether he should be eating food with tax collectors and sinners. Let’s gather together and learn more about the mission of Jesus and what this means for eating dinner and whom we are to eat dinner with.
