This coming Sunday we will be gathering for worship at 9am on “The Barge”. We will be focusing our time on Mark 1.2-13. This last Sunday we began our study on the Gospel of Mark looking at verse 1 of chapter 1. Now we are continuing by looking at more of chapter 1. In these verses we are introduced to John the Baptist. Jesus comes to be baptized by his cousin John in the wilderness, and as Jesus is coming out of the water the heavens are torn apart (v10) and a voice comes from heaven that proclaims he is the beloved Son (v11). What a site to behold! And from that scene Jesus is driven to the wilderness and is tempted by Satan (v13). This is the beginning of Jesus’ journey, and it is a journey that will bring him all the way to calvary. As we take this journey with Jesus let us not be in a hurry. For in the midst of this journey we will be waited on by angels that are sent to be with us (v13).
