This coming Sunday we will be gathering for worship at 9am on “The Barge” (106 S. Water Street). We will be focusing our time on John 20.1-18. In this passage we find Mary Magdalene outside of the tomb weeping because she thought someone had taken the body of Jesus —– her Rabbi. She was gazing upon an empty tomb and when she turned her gaze in another direction she saw someone who looked like the gardener. Mary began pleading with this man, that looked like the gardener, that he would tell her where the body of Jesus had gone. And then the supposed gardener said “Mary” —— and suddenly everything changed. Let us all gather together and celebrate this empty tomb —- for in the midst of emptiness —— Jesus reveals himself to all of us.
