Communion as Sacrifice

This coming Sunday we will be gathering for worship at 9am at “The Barge” (106 S. Water Street). We will be focusing our time on John 6.53-55. In this passage Jesus says some provocative things that surround his body and his blood. That is why many of the disciples said in v60: “This teaching is difficult; who can accept it?” When it comes to the sacrifice that is found at the Lord’s Supper ——- who can accept it? Accept that Jesus offered himself up as a sacrifice for us —— so that through this sacrifice we might have true food and true drink (v55). By offering himself, Jesus also now has given us the opportunity to abide in him (v56). Let’s gather together and learn more about what it means to abide in him through his sacrifice.
