This coming Sunday we will be gathering for worship at 9am at Temple of Israel (1 S. 4th Street – downtown Wilmington). We will be focusing our time on Luke 19.28-40. In this passage we experience the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. He humbly rides into Jerusalem on a donkey and the crowds cheer for him. They cheer because if they didn’t the rocks would shout out (v40). Interestingly, we hear language that reminds us of Christ’s birth: “Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest heaven!” (v38). The people of Jerusalem have lived into the angels’ announcement of the Lord who is coming. This excitingly, solemn passage brings all of the sublime dread of Golgotha —— for we know Friday is a’ coming.
