This coming Sunday we will be gathering for worship at 9am on “The Barge”. We will be starting a new study on the Gospel of Mark. The Gospel of Mark is the only one of the gospels that says right away that it is a gospel. Because this is good news (which is the definition of gospel), we will begin by looking closely at Mark 1.1: “The beginning of the good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.” Jesus is the who is begotten of the Father —– and now has come to share the good news on earth. He is the Jewish Messiah and has come to affect the cosmos with his very being. Let’s gather together and look closely at this first verse and prepare for this in depth study.
