This coming Sunday we will be gathering for worship at 9am on “The Barge”. We will be finishing up our focus on 1 John. We will be spending our time looking at 1 John 5.21. In this verse John writes: “Little children, keep yourselves from idols.” What an interesting way to end this letter. In a way it is a summary of what we have read the entire time —– that love is about truth and action —— that we live our lives in ways that reflect the Holy God we find in Jesus Christ. So therefore, keep yourselves from idols. Let’s gather together as we look at what it means for the Christian to live a life of sanctification.
