This coming Sunday we will be gathering for worship on “The Barge” at 9am. We will be focusing our time on 1 John 3.18-24. In this passage we come to our theme that we have been sticking with during our study of 1 John. It is verse 18: “Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.” This notion of loving that is truth and action flies in the face of much of our understanding of North American Christianity. We have focused on love being syrupy niceties that have no semblance with accountability and sanctification. Here love is based on a proper understanding of the incarnation. The incarnation affects us and spurs us to live a life of love. Let us gather together and go deeper into this understanding of incarnation and sanctification.
