This coming Sunday we will be gathering for worship on “The Barge” at 9am. We will be focusing our time on 1 John 3.11-17. In this passage we are told what love is. That love is found in the sacrificial way of being that Christ embodies. When Jesus laid down his life for us we see perfect love. Now, the writer of John says, that we are to go and do likewise. That we are to lay down our lives for one another. In verse 17 we get to the nitty-gritty of it all. That if we see someone who has a need and we refuse to help —– then we do not have the sacrificial love of God living in us. Let’s learn together about how to live this out in the streets of Wilmington.
